Book Sandwich has its origins in Jen’s old LiveJournal account. She began writing book reviews there in 2005, mostly for her own amusement. Later that year, those reviews were spun in to a new book-review site called Bookwyrm U.S. That site evolved over time in to what is now Book Sandwich.

All sites on the PPM network are powered by WordPress MU, a free open-source web publishing platform. Each individual site uses its own theme along with plugins to create the overall look and functionality of that site.

The Book Sandwich site uses the Benevolence theme along with the Akismet and Subscribe To Comments plugins.
