I'm not a reader of romance novels, but I really did enjoy the book. I listened to the audiobook version and just sat in the car for 10 minutes in the driveway listening so I could finish it. Some of the adjectives were over the top such as "his sculpted chest" and she must have mentioned how beautiful Edward was at least 100 times in the book. I liked the take on vampire legend Meyer added. I also agree with you that the end is gripping. Good review of a good book, I'll be reading New Moon next.
